It’s Christmas Eve, Eve. Which means it would be pretty lame if I didn’t have a new post up to satisfy your nickel fever. How about this: I have four anglers to feature fish from in the last two days. Not including myself. That’s right. Four.
Not too bad out there right now (despite the lowest flows on record) if you can find the fish. They’ve been more than willing to bite. From the coast to the locals if you can find them and be the first to them…..you have a shot.
I’ll get the pics of the other All Around Anglers I’ve referred to up as soon as I can which may be as soon as when TeamSmolt goes to bed. We’ll see. With a weekend packed full of fishing I’m trying to space out the time in which I pound non stop on this keyboard.
I snuck out today by myself and stung (GhostFaceIsm) a couple chromers. One was just a toad….maybe 12 or 13 lbs. The smaller buck went probably 6 or 7. Both fish fought hard (RasheedWallaceIsm) but I won. Thanks to sharp hooks, smooth drags and good knots.
Stay tuned for more metal heading action very soon. The Hustler, The Fishin’ Magician and some lovely ladies are next up on deck.
Yikes…that is bright!

I just got a report and a pic from J Blaze….add one more fish to the mix from today. That makes 5 anglers other than myself who are contributing photos from the last two days to AAA. Quality right there boy.
Beautiful fish and a nice early Christmas present. Sal
Meskel and I are out monday if anyone else’s I’ve a hola
Hey what’s hapnin’ Nookness! Where you two headed? Usual suspect?
Oh thanks a lot Pop. I sure wasn’t into double digits to the bank by the New Year last winter….so I’m twice as grateful this year to be there already. The Quality of the fish no matter where they’re coming from has been phenominal. Wait until you see this big native that Steve Lynch aka The Traveler got this weekend. You’ll like it. It looks like a Pixie in the pie hole…I’ll need to confirm though. Hope you like your steelhead tackle kit for Christmas.
In order to maximize time we’re going to the spot where we can walk in to the mouth of the creek below the property. that my friends is straight up TSL. You think that’s a good call Cat? Meeting at 7 am at Chevrolet if you’re interested
I think any day on the water is a fine idea. Especially when you can remember one of the great All Around Anglers in Gavin ‘Landman’ Anderson at the same time. To answer your question as to the timing….that river typically peaks with steel later on due to the broodstock program it now employs. That doesn’t mean there aren’t early fish though. It’s such a beautiful spot anyway. I’d come meet you if I wasn’t already meetin’ pop up here in the morning. We’ll trade stories tomorrow night. Merry Christmas Nookslayer.
Merry Christmas cat!
