Last Fall Recap!

Hello to all my AllAroundAnglers out there who might still be reading along! So much has changed over the years and I have really lost track of this website and keeping you all posted on here! I suppose we can blame it on Instagram because if you follow me there you would know what’s happening. So, just in case you don’t…I woke up today compelled to bring you into the fold.

Last fall season was truly epic in so many ways! Maxwell was able to get his very own FIRST STEELHEAD on a long day float him and I did together. My wife ran shuttle and the Fish Gods shined on us with a beautifully fought and earned 34” late summer steelhead! My son burst into tears upon netting it and that almost didn’t even happen. The fish popped off next to the boat and was UNSECURED and swimming free before Max himself scooped it into the net. Just barely so! His tears were tears of joy and disbelief to have accomplished something so unexpected.

The best part of this story is that he had put his rod away as we were approaching the end of our float. He had turned to me after seven hours of floating and fishing and said ‘well Dad, I guess we just weren’t lucky enough today to catch one.’ I looked at him and said ‘Son, there’s always one more cast you can make to change your luck!’ And that’s exactly what happened: One more cast. That was the cast that changed everything!

Here are some photos of this past fall including the fish in this story! I hope you all enjoy.
