Product refresher: LEELOCK Anchor Systems

As a small river drift boat angler for three quarters of my life I’ve spent a lot of time and effort dropping anchors and picking them up. There’s a litany of things that can and will go wrong when attempting to anchor a row boat in free flowing water…

Sometimes ‘white’ most of which will happen during an opportune time of discovery. That discovery is either crucial to your navigation of a certain piece of water due to a desired set-up…or it’s something far worse. Like the difference between losing your spot on the river of which you’ll not be able to row back up to and landing the fish either you or a passenger is hooked into.

Let’s hope it’s not a career making fish if you know what I mean. God forbid you’re hooked into a 20lb steelhead and go to drop anchor only to be unable to re-secure your 3/8th inch resulting in a tail spin of the boat and a lost fish. Hopefully not a flipped boat. Which is another real possibility in a scenario like that. The biggest thing you need is a way to secure your rope without searching for the cleat and wasting precious time or putting yourself in danger or in position to lose a fish.

Operating my drift boat with a LeeLock system means I can do way more with way less. They’re also manufactured for bigger boats, sleds and the likes. Check them out. I’ve also shot some videos or you can link to Erik J.’s company by clicking on the logo picture when you see it in the sponsor window on the home page of this website. Cheers!
