A slick drift bait…
November 7th, 2009
One of the great things about rigging up fishing gear is that you can do it any dang way you please. It’s your rig. You can experiment and sometimes a subtlety that truly is game-changing shows itself.
Through a process of learning his own style on the river…Big Burge has come up with a slick little way to loose less fish while staying in the strike zone longer with a little heavier hook…..while staying extremely light on the term tackle lead end of things.
I said subtle with a specific example in mind: I’ll ask if you can see what is a little different about this rag bait of his?
Here is my own version of his rigging creation…..I don’t believe he had got any on the orange yet. I think.
#1 Owner hook, apricot glo bug yarn rigged in the egg loop & three orange EZ Eggs rigged ‘Big Burge-style’
In the spirit of getting some interactivity going on again on this blog……Who has an idea about what Big Burge does differently with his rag baits? Hopefully that picture shows it well enough.
