Team Salmon’s weekend king fling
September 9th, 2009
ATTENTION: THE MOVIE FOR THIS POST IS DIRECTLY BELOW…..
Hey, you try coming up with catchy titles all the time. It’s not easy folks. Anyhow, as promised I am delivering you the full post from our weekend of CR chinook fishing off anchor.
We ran four rods on Sunday to the tune of two fish and ran five rods on Monday to the scream of 3…..with a half dozen misses. Now that’s hot. Especially when you find out at the end of the second day of fishing the ratios of catch to angler. 25 to 136 on Monday. Those who ran with the Wizard and TS were taken care of though. Drool on….
.here, the wizard and big burge stare at one of ten fish hooked on either side of us…hot hog line huh?
I was so excited to get a nice fish with no problems on my lucky new classic glass Lamiglas….it held up after the oversized sturgeon just fine!!!
Many who know double d have heard either him or someone near him speak boldly of his self proclaimed “Number One”. This is a fascination with his ability to consistently catch fish after fish, year after year (yes, same wobbler) when nothing else is seemingly even getting a beak wiff.
What’s even better than describing it to you is to stop right here and let you imagine what a “Number One” might look like. Or, if you’re as fascinated as our own Barometer Brent aka Magicsoul, you’re trying to figure out what you ‘number one’ really is for you! I applaud Brent’s tenacity to try new things…it’s a gift he has he brings over from the drift fishing world and a creativity he inherently has…and he’s done very well this entire year..method to method.
double d scouting sideways boats, kayaks running line and a bank angling clinic of epic proportions.
…kayakers charge money to anglers who enlist their services for running lines further out in the river than they could ever cast
double with a beautifully fought chrome bright chinook (see upcoming full raw video clip of DD’s fish shown here….was very hot)
big burge pulls yet another ‘first for year’ for himself…..with a hot football nooker…his first fall king. Congrats to Pete! He fought this fish well and it wasn’t without effort because that thing fought like a salt water flats fish….smokin’ hot….
nookslayer and brent in waiting of the biggest pay out around….chinook salmon…
the aforementioned “pay out”
Gongrats to Nook for this unbelievably coolly fought king that I almost farmed the net job on. He nicely lifted his fish for me and it saw me and my net and shot the other direction but not before high jacking his 16 ounce cannon ball sinker.
Thought she was a goner as that slick silver pig darted to and fro but not fro very far…..Yikes. I recovered as you saw on the movie. Nothing short of fan freaking tastic to be honest with ya. But hey, I’m not a talker. Thanks to all as that was truly a well oiled machine for us to pull three for three off with five out. Rod tips up for that.
I’ll be putting all of the pictures from this weekend into the photo gallery so you should be able to see everything by the end of the week. Just in time for us to go make more ‘fishumentaries’ for all you loyal readers. Tightest lines……..
