Sometimes I forget that I have a photo gallery. One of the things I am trying to do moving forward, is to make sure that all the photos relevant to scenes in the movies be posted to the gallery. I am in the process today (task accomplishment day today…Ocean tomorrow) of adding over 200 photos to the gallery. Including, ALL of the Pigsticker pics you saw in that slideshow, and more.
I recommend opting for the slide show option and just kick back. Let me know if you see dupes, I’ve tried to clean all that up….there are still multiple pics of the same fish here and there……but that’s by design. I need to know if you see a dupe pic though.
There’s a lot on deck guys. Tons of salmon to post, movies to make…..including a trip that Sal just got back from in Canada for Sturgeon on the Frazier River.
It seems like my dad, Sal aka Sal Monid aka Sal Monidae aka Dignity Dave….should actually take the moniker “The Global Anger”. He goes everywhere and fishes. Russia, Mexico, Canada, Alaska, Wyoming, East Coast, Florida…..and that’s all in not too recent history.
Personally, I couldn’t live without Sal’s contributions to Allaroundangler. I’m super proud of his effort and of the joy I see him get out of some noteworthy contributions….really of epic proportions.
I mean, how many of you have caught everything from east coast stripers to British Columbian sprink chinook the size of Tillamook fall fish…THIS YEAR? I can’t. Not to mention that bank angling day for kings is forever the biggest tail whacking for river kings I’ve ever seen. These were fresh fish. Anyway, I could go on and on, but sadly, I already have.
Here is a wonderful photo from Sal while visiting eastern Washington recently. This is on the Wenatchee forest. What a beaut.
As the locals said to my brother while he lived in Australia…. “Good on ya mate!”
This AMAZING photo taken with an Olympus Stylus, waterproof.
Note from the founder: Captain Todd (DD, Captain Double aka The CR Wizard…our proclamation, not his, by the way. That guy wouldn’t take credit if you threw at him….which we do here at allaroundangler.com. Sit on back and enjoy a day out with him…this was flimed 4 days ago….
**NEW MOVIE HERE!!! NEW MOVIE HERE!!! NEW MOVIE HERE!!! NEW MOVIE HERE!!! NEW MOVIE HERE!!!
Captain toDD continues his tirade on the early fall chinook that are jamming through our biggest waterway as we speak. Along side him for much of this early season, both Ocean and freshwater, has been Barometer Brent aka Magicsoul aka one fishy, fishy man.
On an anchor assault last week in the Big River, somewhere between Astoria and Bonneville :-), the two of these salmon magnets went out together yet again. Dragging along with them another co heart of the captain’s…Krusher Kurt. Krusher nailed a nice fish while the two aforementioned allaroundanglers put some wood on some hog nosed king salmon.
These fish were caught on anchor using traditional wobbler rig ups. Cheers, H3llcat aka The Professor aka Fishtat.

Hey, have you seen what’s on the patio table?
I have some great movies coming your way…LOTS of HOT salmon slammin’ action with the Captain Double. You are all in for treats…..I have to tell you…I have toDD with a pushing 30lb king salmon jumping 6 feet out of the water on video. Ah man. It’s the best ever.
As promised…I am bringing you the rest of Pigsticker’s roll of film from the Fisherman’s motherland…I speak only of course of the great white north of the last frontier…ALASKA!!
I’m about two weeks behind in updating the content with so much great stuff for you guys, my readers out there. I’ll try to post a ‘from the desk’ so you know what’s coming.
Sal back from Canada again? What’s this? With a Frazier River sturgeon story? Holy goodness. Hey, did I mention I’m related to that guy? Amazing. His holy Salness to come very soon….

Hey you loyal AAA readers! Thanks for putting up with a slow content week. I am poised to finish at least two movies tonight…so come on back round. Meanwhile, here is the infamous Pigsticker with some machine gun fire from AK.
…….and YES. Those are trout, for Pete’s sake.
The Pigsticker with Dolly Parton sized Dolly Vardon
I am happy to announce that I am overflowing with content for the site. If AAA was my job, I might have everything done by now. But, since it’s an after hours labor of love, you all must be forced to endure the waiting period necessary for me to get to all of this stuff.
The big two stories up on deck are; Pigsticker and Dry Fly Guy’s trip to Alaska & the summer steelhead trip to the Deschutes with Meskel, Nook, me and BB.
All of you readers out there will want to check out Pig’s pictures from the AK region. Nothing short of AMAZING, trust me. I grabbed one pic off line to preview Pig’s trip. Stay tuned for pics he took of whales, moose, bear, salmon, trout and more…..ice bergs even…..!!
BONNEVILLE DAM – Steelhead runs on the Columbia River recently smashed the single-day record, even doubling it, stunning experts.
Biologists aren’t sure what has caused the high numbers but it is clear that more steelhead than ever before are coming over the Bonneville Dam right now, meaning good business for the sporting goods industry.
“It’s something we’ve been waiting for for a long time to keep us going and get us going a little bit better,” said Thad Tyler, a steelhead fishing guide.
It’s a run so dramatic Tyler brought his kids to the dam to see some of the steelhead and giant Chinook salmon make their way upriver. Experts are shocked.
“I didn’t believe it at first,” Joe Hymer of the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife. “I thought maybe somebody had fat fingers or something where they added like an additional 10,000 fish, but it actually did turn out that way.”
One factor is the weather: it’s warmer than usual, which made the river warmer too. The steelhead may have bunched up downstream waiting for their opportunity to finally come upstream.”
Another factor: court-ordered spills at hydroelectric dams like Bonneville that allow fish passage.
But the biggest factor: fantastic ocean conditions for the years these fish were at sea, biologist say. All this comes as some salmon runs still struggle and people like Tyler try to make it through a struggling economy.
“Supposedly, we’re supposed to get a lot more chinook and a lot more coho coming right behind ‘em, so that should be great for everybody,” Tyler said.
Biologists will have to wait until the end of the steelhead run to figure out if this was actually a record run in total or just a spike early in the run. Experts say what’s especially encouraging about the steelhead run is the mix. It’s about fifty-fifty wild fish versus hatchery-raised steelhead, which means wild fish runs are doing well this year.
