Egg Production From Home
November 20th, 2008
I have to admit it’s been pretty damn tough being laid off and not being able to fish, for the most part. Today, after yet another interview…..I decided to crank out the rest of my fresh frozen…as well as freeze some of my more recent “LipRipper Specials” that I still had in the fridge.
I’ve got about five quarts of ‘back bouncing ready’ roe ready to go (these skeins are a little wetter than drifting eggs) as well as those four pints of LR Specials….all ready to go. The wetter eggs were cured with the commercial Yano cure…….which is a Pautzkie, of course…..and is most certainly not the ‘chronic’ cure I used to get from Mark himself fifteen years ago; but it will do.
With the Clack run supposing to be so good this season…..would it be ridiculous to anchor fish them in the Willamette like we do for Kings and Silvers in the CR? Different gear of course (although I don’t know….LR’s twenty plus was caught on a wobbler in fifty feet of water…lol….flukish, I know.
Anyway, I’m trying to decide if I should return my driftboat to free floating again…or keep it geared for gassin. What do you guys think?
