B Dog came by this morning and wrestled me out eastward way. Good thing too. We beat the rain and had a blast. Double digit hook ups. Four species hooked. And, since I don’t have a job, IT AIN’T EVEN HOOKY! We hooked fish today on Dusty’s famous egg cure..’thanks LR…these fish gobbled those’….we also caught fish on little MR flies with a corky sliding ahead….and then some more fish on corks and yarn…that type of stuff..

B Dog was on this fish like a man on a mission

I’ve got to tell you all that Brandon did one helluva job landing this fish….luckily he had his 9′ 15-30 Cert Pro…..but still, I dunno how he landed it….just since that fish was so hot and Lobey had to bring it back from across the river at least six times. Reminded me of the old Guide Shop tail out hole.

You can see for yourself how much fun we had fighting these pigs with a video for each of us below……

Friday was a pretty eventful for day your Team Salmon Captain. Although I did get laid off from my job, Nook and MR were awesome enough to wait for me before heading out on the water on Friday. Nook was a great friend to both MR and I. He was able to pick up Matt at PDX while I was stuck waiting at work for all the paperwork necessary to complete one’s firing. Ah, fun times.

MR’s quick trip to P Town was indeed a success. He went an hour east on Friday and hooked the biggest fish his 10′ 6weight had ever seen! The fight was incredible these fighting pics are amazing! Nook and I could not have been happier then to see MR tied into a 16 plus pound big buck Silver. Unforgettable 25 minutes. Nook really laid it down as well. This guy hooked three fish in a twenty minute period. Clinic. MR had never seen the Gorge before, so it was a win win type trip for sure. I’m stoked on how well we maximized his time here.

He brought us a wonderful surprise on Friday upon his arrival…….duck and mushrooms that he hunted himself (and hen of the woods mushrooms are amazing in many ways) mixed into his very own stroganoff. It was incredible….we had B Dog over here along with Sal and Mom. Mom brought a great salad and they are the best parents to cruise over for support after my firing. Very cool guys. I thank ya! Check out these ‘fish on’ pics!!

Then, we traveled an hour or more west on Saturday. DD had really outdone himself and put together a guided trip for us. He made Matt’s trip an amazing one as Sal, MR, DD and I trolled the upper bay for an entire incoming tide on Saturday. Very crazy fishery…..although we only saw (as Sal mentioned ) 5 or 6 fish caught, we saw enough action to get an idea of how this fishery works. I’ll let us explore that in the comment section…but that was Sal, mine and Matt’s first trip into the Bay. Funny since Pop and I are from here! Thanks again ToDD! Mila says she hoped the soup helped!

Mila was her usual AMAZING self as she made MR’s stay a memorable one, no doubt, with all of her hospitality. Team Salmon LOVES Mila! And you too, MR! Thanks for coming and I’ll look forward to making one of those ice fishing trips we were talking about on the way to the airport this morning. That sounds Badd Azz.

Pees out my man MR! Great visit. Make it a habit, alright?
