H2O makes coastal run finds success….
November 19th, 2008
As if on queue, H2O has just provided these for me…..as I mentioned ’staggering’ success in my previous post…this is my reference….low, clear water and JT pulls this thing out on some ‘good eggs’, in his words. Hey DC, where the hell is your picture? Below average, Pal. Nut up. Get me that pic. Other AAA’s need to see your chrome. Especially since I heard you are calling it a ‘30′……… ![]()
Anyway, enough ‘big tonin’ on ya’ll……here’s H’s photo spread…..enjoy your Hump Day.

Hey H2O….I bet there’s a story about the fight this thing gave you huh??
Lack of money restricts anglers from making coast runs…

So by now everyone reading this story knows someone who is having more financial challenges then they’ve ever seen. By now most of you know someone who has lost their job(s) too. If you’re like me, you’re already unemployed for God’s sake. This does not bode well for trips all the way to the beach. In fact, being jobless yet unable to use the time to fish might be one of the most frustrating things ever….of all time…..hahaha
The way to stay safe….is to stay put. Obviously. Look at the last time we all made a run together……..it becomes pretty easy to see that our economy has affected our own pocket books so much, we have to fish locally. Who can afford to make runs to the coast anymore?
With this in mind, and even considering the recent staggering success (all odds considered) of Pigsticker and H2O at the coast…..I have been thinking about some of the new stuff we can do this Winter with our new success out of our driftboats on the CR. I mean, really, we should stoked about some of things I’ve been pondering…LR….how about our potential with plugs at the mouths of tributaries and such? When does DRANO happen etc? Things like this.
I know LR will be getting his drift boat all ready to float the coastal streams etc……but I am considering keeping mine “CR Ready”, just in case. If you think about a traditionally ‘long’ day trip….and what the costs are…..we can still take some of these types of trips….by saving and planning….Hell, just look at Sal can accomplish by saving….he’s fished EVERYWHERE!
My hope is that this post may get us all thinking, talking, sharing and even planning some close-to-home trips. Maybe this season just spoiled me….but the lesson seems timely. “Stay local, find success cheap.” I admit it. I’m not only broke, I’m jaded. LOFL. Cheers.
Sincerely,
The Job Hunting Fisherman and your very own Team Salmon Captain. Over and Freaking Out.

November 17th, 2008DD Is Fishy, Like You Didn’t Know Already…
November 16th, 2008
There are some guys who are just plain Fishy. ToDD is one of them. While Big Jim, B Dog and me were battling debris flying down river on our anchor….although we did manage a fish…..DD was over above Cathedral Park tripling up on keepers and nailing huge Catfish. Double Freaking D. He’s out there with Sal today. Cheers.

Will Sunday Fish?
November 11th, 2008
Hey LR, by looking at the Wilson level, and considering the ‘new’ reading is a foot higher than the ‘old’ one…do you think the rivers will fish by Sunday? Oh man….there are going to be some fish up there.

Who is up for the coast Saturday?
November 11th, 2008
I am officially going freakin crazy from lack of fishing? I havent been on the water in two weeks and have already started the out of control shakes from withdrawls….I’m going to hit the bay Saturday for some chrome for sure. Last November was very good to me with multiple fish days so who wants to go? Its going to be tough fishing cuz they havent shown in good numbers this year, but the weather should be good! Not to mention we always seem to have fun and good luck always follows…What do you say Hellcat are you in?

Report From The Tucca…not much else
November 10th, 2008

Well, another weekend come and gone this fall; this one without any angling happening for me. How about anyone else out there? Was it a ‘bye’ for everyone this weekend?
There was one soldier out there this weekend….he hit the Nestucca with his Drifter….one dusty thirty. Let’s hope for more rain to push the dark tide water fish through. I’m looking forward to drifting some of my new Yano roe somewhere along the Wilson or Kilches. I’m not opposed to taking my boat if I can get my truck fixed.
