Weekend Forecast for FishTrippers
February 15th, 2008
Who’s doing what? I’m floating close to home if anyone wants to caravan the drift boats. Late starts are the key. You miss everyone.
Anyone want to float the East fork of the Lewis tomorrow for big Natives?
From Westfly.com……
Native steelhead should show up this month, and some of those fish can top 20 pounds–fun to hook on a fly, but good luck landing one! Go with classic steelhead patterns, such as the Green Butt Skunk, Comet, Brads Brat, Winters Hope, or Freight Train.
The Daybreak Park and Lewisville Park areas are good access points. You can drift between the two parks, but the canyon concentrates river flows, so drifting is a good option when the river has been dropping for a while. Good boating flows are 900-1300 cfs. ~CURRET FLOW 1050CFS
Just a reminder of what kind of pain a fisherman feels when he looses that big one!
