Our Utah Brethren
June 26th, 2008
Hey thanks to Bob D aka The Real D Insane for sending us these beautiful Largemouth photos and a little summary describing……….
June 24th, Bob Didier….Utah warmwater circuit….
The first cupla pics are from Quail Creek Res. We fished last friday from 6am - 3pm and it was a tough post spawn bite.

Only caught 8 fish, with the best 2 fish weighing 3 lbs 10 oz each, and the water temps were up to 75 and the end of the day. Fished deep points with jigs and my secret weapon…a 7 inch senko. We call it the ‘Ron Jeremy bait’.

The last pic is of a nice 3 lber from Sand Hollow Res. last Wednesday. Caught on a drop shot in 15 ft of water. Thats it for now, no giants yet, but I’m gonna keep throwing the swimbaits for that monster.

Should be getting good as soon as they recover from the spawn and move shallow again. Later….

OMG this is the best thing I’ve ever heard on my website….
“Fished deep posts with jigs and my secret weapon…a 7 inch senko. We call it the ‘Ron Jeremy bait’.”
Absolutely classic! Good to have ya, Stan Van Jeremey.

I mis-typed, “deep points” is what I meant. And all 3 pictures are from Quail Creek and the Sand Hollow Pic is missing. I’ll resend it to you Chris. Later.

TRDI (The Real D Insane)……I fixed the items you pointed out……..
I saw your post and got nostalgic cuz it’s Bass fishing I grew up on. I’ve gotta do more of this. I used to love fishing plastics on a texas rig for Largies or fishing a Carolina rig, deep, for smallies. My favorite thing to do with plastics, however, is to “drop bait” ‘em. Cast em in against a steep or vertical bank….freespool….and hopefully watch that line TAKE OFF sideways! Meskel, Richey…..let’s get a trip planed to fish with TRDI. Word.

Hell yeah! Sounds Good. I’m gonna get up there for Aaron’s wedding somehow.
Yeah, I’m loving the bass down here. These two reservoirs are very clear water, so finesse techniques and plastics are my favorite. Senkos, are my favorite. No weight, spinning gear, let it fall on slack line and just watch the line. If it takes off….swing for the fence! But I finally got into som topwater action last fall and that was freaking sweet! Sight fishing is also a favorite too. Hell, it’s all fun. Gotta expand, and learn to catch those beasts from the NW though. Man, I didn’t realize what I was missing when I was up there. I gave it a go a few times, but didn’t know anything or what I was doing. Anyway, love the site, and glad to share my pics. I take pics all the time. Peace Out!!!

Bobby D!!! Nice pics man! It’s funny how we have all aclimated to fishing having know each other so long. It’s a nice way for us all to keep in touch.
Now, let’s get a trip planned when you are up here. We’ll figure out what’s happening and where and go. Maybe even drag the drifters and head out. Heller I know you’re on this, so will Meskel be and I’m sure that B Dog is down. We have the gear so you won’t have to travel with it (and kids).
So anyone up for a Salt Lake trip? I’d be up for it!

I’m closer to Las Vegas than Salt Lake City. 2 hours vs 4 1/2 hours away. But there is some good fishing in SLC that I have yet to experience. But first I gotta get up there for more than a day or two. Might have to wait until 09, but it will happen.
