Hiking for steelhead

Posted: January 6, 2016 by Hellcat in Fish Reports

Do you ever feel like you have just spent an entire day hiking more than fishing this time of year? I suppose I should say “Welcome to steelhead bank angling” because that’s exactly what I did with two friends the other day. Hike. Hike more. Fish a little. Hike. I’ve become used to rowing my boat more than hiking the past couple years so it was nice to switch things up. The water was still high on most local water that weekend but we found this little beautiful stretch I’ve shown before. Here’s a few pics from the trip. Have any of you guys been getting out?

Nice pics. I recognize the water and it is a pretty good walk to get in there. The water looks OK. Too bad the fish were not cooperating. I guess still a little early on that river. Next time!
