Hey Chris! I like the new look of the AAA site! Great content as always. Thought I’d say hello and share a pic of this native coho I landed the weekend before Thanksgiving on the Clack. It had to have been one of the 118 that pushed through the week before after the 1st big rain. Caught on the swing with one of my own marabou tube flies. Hope all is well and you guys have a great holiday. -Matt O’Connor

Beautiful bright fish! I bet you had a fun fight on the fly. I am wondering what kind of coho run the Clack is having this year?

I don’t think it was too good at least from what I read, heard and observed from only getting out about 3 times. The couple of trips before there were fish rolling around but no willing biters. This one grabbed the fly on the hang down right before I stripped it in in about 4 feet of water.

You have to wonder about all the warm water in the ocean and what kind of impact it is having on some species. The coho we were getting in the Kodiak area were noticeably smaller than average and definitely did not have the fat that a fish right out of the ocean should have.
It will be interesting to see what happens next year. I read that the warm blob is starting to break up but hanging on along the coast of So Cal. Sal
