By now most of you know I am offering a full line of in person services including river angling coaching of all aspects, drift boat or bank. All small river. Licensed. Insured. Skilled. “Having fished with guides in the past, this was my first time booking a coaching trip. Prior to meeting up with Chris Heller, I would have rated my bank river fishing skill/knowledge as about a 3 or so. Chris tailored a day of fishing to fit my skill level and desire to learn some bank fishing techniques.

From the moment of tying the first knot, to reading the river, to making the first cast, I was able to learn skills and techniques to increase my skill level. Chris shared his knowledge of river reading, fishing gear and presentation, and technique in a laid back easy to understand way. I was able to try multiple different rods of varying lengths along with fishing with multiple different presentations (floats, bait, jigs, beads, spoons and spinners).

This “hands on” approach partnered with Chris’s coaching raised my bank river fishing skill/knowledge to a solid 7. The day culminated with landing an 18lb Chinook that was released to continue the species.

Chris’s excitement for the fish life cycle, natural river habitat, and passion for river fishing was refreshing and contagious. I can’t wait to hit the river with my increased knowledge base. This one trip has definitely increased my skill, which will undoubtedly lead to more chrome on the bank. I am sure of it!
