“Hey Chris,

A good friend of mine has been trying to get me out for a while for walleye and Friday was the day. Well as you can see by the pics we really had a good day. I am originally from the midwest and walleye fishing is not new for me, but this was the first time to fish for them out here. If you haven’t eaten walleye before, you are missing out on some of the best tasting white fish out there. The walleye fishery out here is an under utilized fishery to say the least, and I am sure that these fish do have an impact on the success of salmon and steelhead smolts as these are voracious predators that sit near the top of the food chain in our rivers. With liberal limits and what appears to be a large population of fish, you may want to consider giving it a try yourself if you haven’t already.” David Solberg

Looks like a very good day of fishing. I finally got to try some walleye 2 years ago and they are terrific eating. I assume that you were out on the big river? Sal

Walleye now that’s something I’ve never fished for. Going to add that to my bucket list for the year.

Out in the slow water, mostly slough-like areas. That was the first time that I have fished walleye out here. We use to catch a lot of them when I lived in the mid-west. And yes, we had a pretty good day to say the least, lots of good eating slabs for sure. I am sure that we will be making more trips in the future and just hope that day wasn’t a fluke.
