Around 15 years ago I taught Shawn Richey aka Nookslayer (his AAA named coined from a chinook season he had in early 2000’s) to fly fish.
He excelled. He later taught his brother Brian Meskel to do the same. Brian also excelled.
They are now my most consistent fly angling contributors as well as a HUGE part of why this website is successful. They are Legacy TeamSalmon. You can find Nookslayer along with MME and my dad under the sponsor page as well.
Here is Nook’s latest creation for his chrome chasing escapades on his arsenal of fly rods….single and double handed, free, spey and switch.
I give you: The Pink Taco.

I like it. I bet it would be kick ass on coho. Sal
Boy that’s no shit. Good call, Sal.
That is dirty. Please remove that picture from the site. Richey I want the recipe. CDC
Hahaha. You wish CDC! Good comment anyway. Finally. Jk.
Well, I tested the taco in a TS favorite winter steel spot. Super low and gin clear. I was able to hook up a really nice steelhead that moved out of the shadows and hammered it. I then promptly long line released him. CDC you would be surprised how easy this bug is. It was sparked by the pink worm the Cat runs under a bobber. It looks even better in the water.
