Die Hard Custom Baits Steelhead Plastics….Truly Customized

A life long friend of mine, Bobby Didier, now resides in St. George, Utah. He found his angling spirit once moved. Funny he would live in NorthEast Portland his whole life so close to so many salmon and steelhead meccas and not get the bug until moving inland several states. None the less, he’s got it now.

I’ve featured Bobby on this website many times. He is a championship bass angler now and makes his own customized plastic baits for warmwater. We got to chatting one day and I mentioned how often us steelheaders fish plastic crap here in the rivers. Worms and eggs. He became curious as to how well he could push out something for us to use over here.

For three years now Bobby has been sending me customized plastics…first featured in May of 2008 with Big Burge’s beautiful summer steelhead I so fondly remember. I’ll dig up the video and repost it soon. Digressing. Here are some photos of Bobby’s latest creations for me. I highly recommend you check out his website which is attached to AAA in our ‘links’ location as well as many posts throughout our archive (which by the way is the most content of ANY fishing site out there).

He is happy to custom make you your very own patterns as well. He is good people and a dedicated angler in his own right. They give him trophies for the stuff he catches. I’ve always said bass anglers make the best converted finesse river anglers. This is true with many hardcore PACNW household names such as Mark Yano and Tim Rooney. Hell, even our very own Sal Monid. The technical aspect and committment to detail lends a bass angler a huge advantage if they choose to chase ‘slime rockets’ at a later time in their angling career.

Take a look at the latest custom river plastics from Die Hard Custom Baits and lemme know what you think. I’ll be fishing them tomorrow on a river near you.

I’m sorry to say it, but those look defective. Please send them to me for appropriate disposal. 😉

Hahahaha. Nice one. I can’t wait for the water to come up a little to try them out proper. Today was a jig show.

I have to get some of those latex eggs for some coastal side drifting on a spot that hammers real eggs. i’ll go with, more time spent drifting a good presentation…more fish on. & yeah, if they’re going to have to be tossed out, i’d dumpster dive for some of those…i’m not proud.

You’ll love these eggs of Bobby’s, Blaze. They are a soft, supple pink and come in a range of sizes. Good comment.
